San Diego Kenpo Karate Association (SDKKA) is the governing body for San Diego Kenpo Karate Dojo. The SDKKA endeavors to empower Kenpo Karate instructors by supporting their organizational needs.
The SDKKA was formed to propagate Kenpo Karate instruction to groups that might not be able to attend a regular Kenpo school. Our vision is to have our instructors to donate part of their services to community groups.
The SDKKA is also attempting to fill a niche in Kenpo Karate instruction by focusing mainly on self defense. Other schools seem to focus on sport karate, kick boxing, Jiu-Jitsu, or MMA and have lessened the emphasis on Kenpo Jiu-Jitsu type of self defense instruction traditionally propagated by the Hawaiian roots of our flavor of Kenpo Karate. Our focus is mainly Self-Defense.
Our main style has evolved into a mixture of Kenpo, Lima Lama and Historical European Martial Arts. The style name has transitioned from Kenpo Jiu Jitsu Karate to Kenpo Buki Senjutsu. The main style page is at: https://kenpobukisenjutsu.wordpress.com/ (also listed in the Links section).
The San Diego Kenpo Karate Association has good relations with other Kenpo Karate Organizations such as Tracy’s International Schools of Self Defense and Dick Willett’s American Kenpo Karate Association.
